a. Wheel hub motor drive

The hub motor is actually a kind of external rotor motor. The tire is fixed on the motor shell, and then the motor is fixed on the skateboard bridge so that it has the function of driving wheels. Because the in-wheel motor for electric skateboards is a new category, there is not yet a perfect and very powerful in-wheel motor that can be used. But because of its simplicity, stability, and simple maintenance, it is very popular among brand boards.

b. External motor belt (chain) drive

The motor is fixed on the skateboard bridge with a bracket, and the rotation of the wheel is driven by the transmission of a belt or an iron chain (less) and a large and small synchronous wheel. Because of the transmission efficiency of the synchronous wheel, the power is abundant, the force is strong, and the torque is far beyond that of the wheel hub. By changing the gear ratio, you can have a very free speed and power ratio. c. Direct drive motor

In essence, it is similar to the in-wheel motor. It also directly fixes the motor to the bridge. However, it uses a structure that directly fixes the tires, so there is more space to use a larger motor, and it also avoids the in-wheel motor because the tire skin is wrapped.
